Balearic islands

The Balearic Islands are an island group in the Mediterranean sea consisting of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera, the latter was appointed National Park in 1986 and it is a beautiful destination to experience the stunning and unspoilt natur of the Balearic Islands.

Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands and offers all the amenities which also western capitals offer. In addition it offers one of the most beautiful old towns in Europe.

Mallorca is also the tourist center and has Spain′s second highest passenger numbers landing at the airport. In the summer months Mallorca is even one of the airports with the highest passengers counted in Europe.

Apart from that Palma de Mallorca is a commercial, administrative and cultural center and a major supplier of shoes, leather, glass, metal goods and furniture.

The climate is mostly mild and offers 300 sunny days a year.

The Balearic Islands are a natural paradise with many attractions, hiking trails, bays and beaches with crystal clear water in the middle of the Mediterranean nature and many other leisure activities.The Sierra de Tramuntana is a mountain range in the west of Mallorca that has been designated as a World Heritage Site in der category Landscape by UNESCO. It is the recognition by the international community of almost perfect symbiosis between the actions of man and nature, which have grown to a monumental work over the centuries, reflecting human culture, tradition, aesthetics, spirituality, identity and the nature.
